Senior Services offers a wide variety of volunteer and educational opportunities. The Center could not provide programs and services
to
the growing older adult population without the dedicated assistance
of volunteers.

Home Delivered Meal volunteers
(drivers, site helpers)

Newsletter Assembly volunteers/clerical

SeniorNet instructors and coaches/special interest class instructors

Special Event volunteers
(persons to assist with our fundraising events)

Volunteers to assist with mass mailings and appeals

Money Management volunteers
(persons to be representative payees for the Money Management Program)

Volunteer Tax Counselors for the Elderly
(TCE, Tax Aide Program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service and the American Association of Retired Persons)

Gift Shop Volunteers
(volunteers to work as clerks in our gift shop and to donate time as members of our Gift Shop Guild-persons who make items to sell in our gift shop)

Tag Day Volunteers
(volunteers to work at our Tag Day held each May at various locations in Joliet)

Quilting Volunteers
(Volunteers do traditional hand quilting in a quilting bee style. All quilting is done on consignment and proceeds go to Senior Services.

Helping Hands Volunteers
(Volunteers for Bolingbrook, Romeoville and Joliet sites who make incontinence pads for cancer patients)

Long Term Care Ombudsman Volunteers
(trained volunteers who advocate for residents of licensed long term care facilities in Will, Grundy and Kankakee counties)

The Senior Services Center of Will County recognizes its dedicated volunteers at the Center's annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast each January.
Senior Service’s volunteers have given over 659,262 hours of service to date.
