The Nutrition programs at the Senior Services Center of Will County are provided to assist seniors with independent living by promoting better health through improved nutrition and reduced isolation.
The Home Delivered and Congregate Meals are designed to meet 1/3 of the daily nutrition requirements for adults. The hot, lunch-time meals are sodium and calorie controlled. Diabetic alternative desserts are also offered. A complete nutritional analysis is available by request to discuss with your physician or dietitian.
Home Delivered Meals are available Monday through Friday. Seniors age 60 or over who are frail and / or homebound should call the Senior Services Center to inquire about placement on the program.
Congregate Meals are available at multiple sites throughout Will County for seniors age 60 or over. Attending a dining center is a good way to find out about events going on in the community, to stay informed about issues affecting seniors, and to get involved in activities.
For specific locations, service days, and times or to make reservations, please call the dining room nearest to you.
Home Delivered and Congregate Meal clients are asked to make a fair share contribution toward their meal.
Home Delivered Meal clients will receive a reminder each month based on the contribution amount determined at the time of assessment. No senior will be denied service for their inability to contribute.
For Congregate Meal clients, a suggested contribution chart is posted at each site. Contributions are kept confidential and no senior will be refused a meal for their inability to contribute.
Guests under 60 years old are welcome; however, we ask that they contribute the full cost of the meal.
Membership entitles you to discounted rates on programs, classes, trips, and more. You will also receive our newsletter to keep you informed about everything that is going on at the Center.
